“ I'm almost through all of their Dons and let me tell you - all delicious and perfectly prepared. It's simple, clean and flavorful. Close your eyes and point to something on the menu, I guarantee whatever you get you'll end up loving. Gotta show some love to their takoyaki! A lovely addition to my rotation for sure. ”
“ Easily the best stall in Golden Mall for a meal! The fried fish was so good, but our favorite item was for sure the fried sweet potato balls. ”
“ Another great food option in the Golden Mall food court is Ginza Don. They primarily specialize in BBQ-style donburi bowls. Needless to say, I got myself a donburi bowl. The Teriyaki Chicken & Thinly Sliced Beef Donburi ($16) is one of their top sellers. Makes a great lunch meal. I also got their Oyster Tempura ($7), which is super delicious. Just make sure you let it cool a bit so you don't burn your mouth like I did. ”
“ Ginza Don is located inside the Golden Mall. Today, I decided to stop by during my lunch break. I couldn't opt out of the white rice because they didn't offer noodles on the menu. Don Combo including Rice, Miso Soup, Seaweed Salad, and Soft Boiled Egg Japanese Whiting Donburi $17.99 + The fried whiting was crispy and delicious. + The miso soup was flavorful. + The seaweed salad was tasty. - I wasn't a fan of the soft-boiled egg. They accept credit cards and cash! Bookmark this spot to try! ”
“ Okay so I'm going to judge this on the fact that it feels like they had an off day at the time of this review, my friends and I went here a few days ago and it seems like they were a bit understaffed / in a bit of a rush around the time we got there, the food was good quality we really liked the takoyaki and miso soup but the shrimp tempura we had and the mussels lacked a bit of seasoning. Um our donburi.. this is a tough one this is where we felt like it was an off day. They were really sweet like the first few bites were great but as we ate it was a little bit difficult to continue eating as well as some of the ingredients once again lacking seasoning. I'd really like to go back and give them a better review. I'm still giving them a good score because it was VERY clear it was an off day from the other reviews, I will be back to update. ”
“ Corner stall with several tables and counter seating. There is contactless ordering available (QR code on every table and counter seat, as well as a kiosk), but paying with card seems to have a surcharge, so bring cash! The cashier seemed to only speak Mandarin, but I was able to point and order without an issue. I took a seat at one of the tables, and the staff brought out my food very quick. There are Sriracha and Teriyaki bottles on the table. They are squeeze bottles that comes out with a lot with one squeeze, so be careful! The Eel Donburi was sweet in a flavorful way, tender, and topped with furikake. It is over perfectly cooked rice (big portion!), with mushrooms (which were cold, I wish it was grilled), and cabbage (which tasted bitter in a weird way so I didn't eat it). The Poached Egg was packaged nicely. It was perfectly runny, which I mixed in with the rice. The Miso Soup was a little bland, but had a good amount of seaweed and tofu. The Seaweed salad was crunchy and well marinated. You can ask them for the key to the bathroom (key fob attached to a quart container) Overall a decent spot with fair pricing. Would try their other bowls next time. ”
“ BLUF: Good donburi (Japanese-style meat and rice bowls) Ginza Don is the inner-most (southwestern-most) alcove of the newly re-opened and refurbished Golden Mall, the basement food court that gave birth to Xi'An Famous Foods. Ginza Don offers donburi -- Japanese-style meat and rice bowls. One could say Ginza Don is like a premium version of the Teriyaki One and Sarku Japan chains. We've had the Teriyaki Chicken / Thinly Sliced Beef Bowl, and Eel Bowl meal sets. Each meal set includes beech mushrooms, seaweed salad, a cup of miso soup, an onsen egg (here, a soft-boiled runny egg yolk), and a vial of sauce. The sides are between OK and Good (between 3 and 4 stars), unlike other places where the sides seem like afterthoughts. Take-out packaging has been very sturdy. We enjoyed the thinly sliced beef the most -- it was deliciously sweet, more so when mixed with the runny egg and rice. The beef is grilled to order. The teriyaki chicken and eel were OK, but we didn't like them as much as the beef. Also the runny egg didn't work as well with eel as it did with the beef. Logistics: Ginza Don has about room for about 10 people in its alcove, and has a couple of counter seats in front of the grill. Each table has a QR code that enables contactless ordering from a smartphone, and there is a tablet by the side of the food stall that also allows for contactless ordering, but I think these conveniences are surcharged. Complimentary Wi-Fi is supposedly offered, but wasn't available during our last visit. Golden Mall provides restroom facilities -- a couple of bathroom stalls accessed by passcode, and a common wash basin outside of the stalls. Ginza Don has its own wash basin. Accessibility: Golden Mall's 41st Road entrance (by the Q58 bus stop) has a short flight of 3 steps into the mall, and is closer to Ginza Don. The Main Street entrance has a longer, narrower, and steeper flight of stairs. ”
“ We had such tasty and fresh Japanese barbecue experience! Highly recommend you try Ginza Don in the Golden Mall in Flushing ! It was so neat to watch our meat being grilled. It really had our mouths watering! The portions are generous and I love how the meals come with miso soup, pickles, and a soft boiled egg! Here's what we ordered: ~Ribeye donburi- The meat was so tender and cooked to a nice medium rare! Just how I like it! The Japanese bbq sauce is soooo good, I always add extra! And the soft boiled egg and the yolk, gave the dish such a perfect richness! ~Karbi chuck ribs donburi- The fat on the meat just melted in my mouth. So delish! Definitely get some food from here and then enjoy walking around the mall! You can find bubble tea, cakes, among other things there. It's really a great time! ”
“ I'm sad to see not too many people decide to eat here nowadays, hopefully lots of people do order food from them through the Hungry Panda app. The place used to be bustling with people during their grand opening except now looks so deserted with only two to three people here and there. There's a small designated area for customers to sit down. You order at the cashier and then the staff brings the food over. Accepted form of payment are cash and/or credit/debit card. Definitely fast service indeed!!! They provide free wifi with the wifi name & password as a sticker on the table. Plus, there's a wall outlet underneath each table so you can charge your phone while eating. They also provide a sink with liquid soap to wash your hands before and/or after your meal. How thoughtful! Always gets me when eateries have little touches like that here and there for their customers. The hot food is really fresh, delicious and worthy for your money nevertheless. I often like to order their teriyaki chicken donburi (照燒雞腿丼 - $13) just because how many pieces of meat there're in the bowl. Every order comes with miso soup, seaweed salad and a soft-boiled egg on the side. The rice soaks up the teriyaki sauce which makes it quite flavorful. Super fulfilling either as lunch or dinner. I've enjoyed my meal very much. Would definitely come back to try out other kinds of meat on the menu. ”
